Wigston College is a specialist Sixth Form Learning Centre. Facilities, teaching and support are focused on A Level and other Level 3 courses. We offer a wide variety of advanced level subjects which include traditional academic subjects and also applied subjects. We are noted for the quality of pastoral support that is available to students and for the commitment to enrichment activities and community links. Students can access careers information, advice and guidance to help them develop employability skills and to assist a smooth transition to their next career or educational pathway.
All students have access to a support system that encompasses tutors, specialist pastoral staff and external guidance and counselling agencies. Students with special educational needs or an EHCP are supported by professionals as appropriate.
What makes us different?
Wigston College is a relatively small sixth form which allows for smaller than average academic class sizes. Staff and students have excellent working relationships; students feel well-supported and that their individual learning needs are recognised. Students appreciate the sense of community at the College and the warm atmosphere that exists. The College upholds a broad curriculum and is also proud of its strong tradition within music and the performing arts.
