About us

At New College Leicester, our mission is to provide a rounded and inspirational education for all our young people. We do this by instilling the 4 R’s: Respect; Responsibility; Resilience and Resourcefulness – the values we hold most dear. Our students therefore develop the confidence to embrace the responsibilities that life has to offer and become valued members of the local community and beyond, both now and in the future.

Student support

At New College Leicester we aim to support, enable and empower students, staff and parents/carers around CEIAG to maximise the potential of our students.

New College has been awarded Quality in Careers Standard Award Career Mark Gold in recognition of outstanding and continued commitment to careers education and guidance. We strive to give our students every opportunity in order to encompass our ongoing drive to raise young people’s aspirations and develop their employability skills by preparing them for the world of work.

This is in line with our broader and holistic #ThisIsUs framework which is embedded into the ethos of the school. The strategy underpins everything we do at New College with key words:

What makes us different?

While teaching and learning remain our core business, we recognise that the success of any young person’s journey through education is measured not only through excellent examination outcomes, but also by other key determinants for a healthy and fulfilling life. We want our students to be well qualified; to be mentally and physically health literate; to be civically engaged in their local community and beyond and to eventually, follow higher qualifications, secure meaningful work so that they may enjoy the benefits and freedoms associated with economic independence.
