Leicester Riders Basketball and LCFC in the Community BTEC Academy
The Leicester Riders Foundation and LCFC in the Community (LRF&LCFCitC) have formed an exciting new education partnership, which will offer a BTEC Level 3 Sports Course to 16-18 year olds
All students are eligible to apply for a bursary to support travel costs. All students will receive a FREE training package (tracksuit, t-shirts etc). We have designated safeguarding and mental health awareness staff in place, onsite physiotherapists and other pastoral care to accommodate the needs of our students.
What makes us different?
We are not your average college environment. We deliver high quality education in our state of the art classrooms (4 in total) at the Morningside Arena in the heart of the City Centre, Home of the Leicester Riders Professional Basketball Team. Students would train and coach on our amazing indoor 3000 capacity sized arena. Students would benefit from daily coaching/practical workshops from Leicester Riders professional players and LCFC coaching staff to learn how to coach, play and officiate both football, futsal and basketball. Students will be provided with FREE training kit and equipment and will be offered the opportunity to receive their NGB level 1 and 2 coaching qualifications for free over the two year course. Not only this, we will also ensure our students receive other training and development opportunities including first aid, safeguarding, mental health awareness as well as incentives to receive free driving lessons. Our aim is to make our students as employable as possible and 'work ready'.
Located on the back of Abbey Park, next to Leicester College, easily accessible from St Margaret's Bus Station (just a 5 minute walk away), this is the perfect location for anyone to reach, in the heart of Leicester City Centre.
