Entry requirements

Grade 5 in D&T Product design or

grade 5 in another D&T subject with

recommendation from subject teacher.

Basic Design and Technology

knowledge and skills are transferable

from the other GCSE Design and

Technology subject areas.

Grade 5 in Math is recommended 15%

of the written paper is Math content.

The course requires a variety of

materials and a donation of £25 is

requested to help us fund for these.

The students will need to buy a text

book by Hodder Education:

‘My Revision Notes - AQA Design

and Technology - Product Design’

Product Design 3D has links with Science, Engineering, Art, Business Studies and Mathematics to name a few as it

contains many transferable skills such as communication, analysis, problem solving and evaluation. This broad

base of skills enables it to mesh well with most subjects and so allows students to consider a variety of areas for

future study or work. Universities offer a wide range of courses that follow on from these, of which the following are

a short list. Architecture, Theme Park Design, Product Management, Graphic Design, Engineering Design,

Marketing, Product Design, Interior Design, Film and TV, Point of Sale Design.
