What will you be working towards?
||Future Pathways Moving On
This course is designed specifically for those who have completed the Future Pathways courses and have reached the point in the education journey of transitioning on from full-time Further Education into either part-time education, voluntary or paid employment or community opportunities.
You will continue to take part in enrichment activities and community experiences, alongside volunteering to help you to further develop your work, vocational and Independent Living skills.
Additionally this course supports you in further developing your English and maths qualifications at an appropriate level.
During this course you will continue to improve your English and maths at a level that is right for you.
You will take part in our engaging programme of practical and vocational sessions based primarily within the local area and are appropriately named Moving On.
There is also the opportunity to expand your own individual strengths and development goals, supported fully by our dedicated team of staff.
How will it be delivered?
There are no formal assessment criteria, however regular attendance on all your college days is a necessity and it is expected that you maintain an attendance rate of 90%
There are no formal entry requirements, ideally you will need to have completed our Future Pathways courses, you will need to complete an application form, submit satisfactory references and come for an interview. During your interview, you will meet a member of our team who will give you the opportunity to talk about your future aspirations and any support needs you require.
We will need to see your learning disability assessment or your Education Health and Care plan (EHCP).
Your next steps...
At the end of the course, you will be invited to a review within the first term where your progress and aspirations are discussed. We will help you to make informed choices about your options and aspirations after college.
You will also have the opportunity to attend parent/carers events focused upon What Comes Next and to apply to further courses within the College that match your future aspirations or vocational courses within the college. Throughout your time on the course, you will have regular opportunities to meet with your key worker to discuss additional support and development needs.
