This extended diploma programme (equivalent to three A levels) incorporates a range of essential skills needed to progress into a career in the world of business or further education.
The diverse nature of this course gives you an insight into all sides of the industry, allowing you to focus on the aspects that interest you the most and help you on the path to employment.
You will learn about the intricacies of International Business across a range of topics, including:
1. Business decision making
2. Team building
3. Training and development
4. Market research
5. Pitching a new business.
The aim is to develop your general understanding of key business areas, leaving the opportunity for further study in higher education as well as building towards senior roles in established businesses or starting your own enterprise.
How will it be delivered?
Assessments take place through a combination of portfolios, presentations and exams. You will also be expected to take part in a work experience placement, as these are crucial to your employability skills and development.
In addition, as part of the study programme, you will take part in workshop sessions, tutorials and employability skills.
You must have achieved a minimum of 3 merits and completed a minimum of 510 hours on the Foundation Diploma course. You also need a strong reference, a minimum of 95% attendance and complete the interview process.
Your next steps...
Upon completion of this extended diploma you can either progress onto a Higher National Diploma in business, hospitality or travel courses at Leicester College or a degree programme at an alternative provider.
In addition, this course will give you an excellent insight into business-related topics that can be transferred to the world of work, either in full or part-time employment or on an apprenticeship programme.
