Units you will study include: Communicating in the IT Industry, Working in the IT Industry, Installing Computer Hardware, Website Development, Spreadsheet Modelling and Installing Computer Software.
The IT course involves some trips, visits and speakers from the industry and a 2 week placement. We try to make the course as real as possible, in terms of what you might get asked to do if you ever work in the IT industry. Over the years some of the
Students may progress onto Level 3 courses in IT or Media which can lead either to employment or to university. Alternatively you could go straight into employment or training. This course provides useful skills which employers value and may lead to a level 3 Apprenticeship. There are a range of organisations you could gain employment in, these include IT, retail, fashion & textiles, and marketing.
