The course provides a thorough background for employment; training and education in a wide range of Health and social care professions, such as Nursing, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Care Home. It places an emphasis on the vocational aspects. Work experience, visits and vocationally qualified staff combine to provide an interesting but challenging programme. There is 200 hours work placement included in this course.


You will study 18 units, 9 of which are mandatory and 9 optional; Key Skills will also be covered. How will it be delivered?

Written assignments, presentations, group work and practical skills are used to monitor learning. Some element of external assessment is by awarding body.

Entry requirements

You will require a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above or a First Diploma in Caring or NVQ Level 2 in Care. Mature students can gain entry to the course based on appropriate previous experience in a care setting. All candidates will be interviewed to ensure that the course is suitable for future career needs.
