Overview

The Advanced Diploma focuses on performance using practical skills, knowledge and understanding and is an ideal pathway to a range of careers within engineering.

Details

You will cover a range of topics including health and safety, computer aided design, programmable logic controls, welding, electrical principles, mathematics and science, organisational efficiency and improvement. You will also learn functional skills which are English, Maths and ICT as required.This course may also (dependant on demand) be available as an Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled programme.

How will it be delivered?

The programme is internally and externally assessed by achievement of practical assignments and multi-choice testing.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade A-C (including Maths and Science) or an Intermediate Certificate in Engineering and Technology. Mature students (over 21) with relevant work experience need no formal entry requirement, however all students will have to attend an interview and take an Initial Assessment.

The course is designed as a pathway into employment within the engineering sector or onto Higher Education e.g. HNC/HND or Foundation Degree in High Performance Engineering.
