Overview
Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Sport and Physical Activity is equivalent to 1 A-Level.
Details
The course will be studied as a single award and is the equivalent to 1 A Level. The single award course requires the completion of 2 units in Year 1, and 3 units in Year 2, and involves the completion of both theory and practical work.
Units Covered:
Unit 1: Body Systems & the effects of Physical Activity; explore the structure and function of the skeleton, the fundamentals of the energy systems and develop an understanding of how the human body works in sport
Unit 2: Sports Coaching & Activity Leadership; Develop coaching sessions through planning then delivering leadership activities.
Unit 3: Sport Organisation and Development; Understand sports development in practice.
The following units will be optional, only 2 from the list will be selected and we will aim to meet the needs of the learners on the course:
Unit 5: Performance Analysis in Sport & Exercise
Unit 8: Organisation of Sports Events
Unit 10: Biomechanics & Movement Analysis
Unit 12: Nutrition & Diet for Sport & Exercise
Unit 17: Sports Injury & Rehabilitation
Unit 19: Sport & Exercise Psychology
How will it be delivered?
In the single award two of the units is assessed via an exam and three of the units are assessed via externally verified coursework.
Entry requirements
A passion for sport, Grade 4 at GCSE or Level 2 Pass at CNAT PE
