Year 12 – Modules
PURE: Algebra 1, Polynomials, Binominal Theorem, Trigonometry, Differentiation & Integration, Exponentials & Logarithms, Vector’s.
MECHANICS: Units & Kinematics, Forces & Newton Law,
STATISTICS: Collecting, representing and interpreting data, Probability and Discrete Random variables, Hypothesis Testing.
Year 12 / AS = 1x2 hours and 1x11/4 hour external exam
All students undertake mock exams at least twice a year.
Homework in the form of teacher notes, past papers, ICT resources (Mymaths), Integral.
Year 12 AS modules – need a minimum grade D to continue onto A2.

5 Grade 4’s and above to include Grade 6 in Mathematics GCSE.
You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Mathematics, which could lead onto higher education in areas of Mathematics, related areas such as Engineering, Economics, Physics or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to Mathematics such as an Accountant, Engineer, Financial Adviser or Teacher. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
