What is chemistry? Chemistry is the study of the elements and their compounds. It is a vital part of everyday life and contributes usefully to all parts of society. Why study Chemistry? Excellent job prospects and you learn useful skills in problem solving. Other useful skills include analytical thinking, working in groups, research skills and understanding the nature of the world around us. The average graduate chemist is one of the top earners in the country.

Entry requirements

The standard offer for all A level programmes is 5 subject passes at Grade 5.This must include English Language and Maths. For some subjects such as Further Maths ,Science and psychology, there will be additional requirements, a grade 6 is required in chemistry or 66 in double. 

Your next steps...

You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses or to prepare for the A2 in Chemistry, which could lead onto higher education in science related subjects or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to Chemistry.
