A robust legal system is the foundation of a fair society. If you feel strongly about concepts such as justice and equality then this could be very rewarding for you. The course will enable you to develop an understanding of how law is made and operates in the UK. You will take part in classroom discussions, carry out independent study, and write essays and present information to the group. The course is enhanced with trips including a visit to London to tour of the Houses of Parliament, the Old Bailey, Supreme Court and Downing Street. Guest speakers include Police Officers, Magistrates and a Judge. Students are encouraged to participate in our Mock Trial, giving an insight into the work of Solicitors and Barristers.



How will it be delivered?

Assessment of A Level

Year One:

  • Component 1 : The Legal System & Criminal Law

Year Two:

  • Componet 2 : Law making & The Law of Tort
  • Componet 3 : The Nature of Law and either Humah Rights or The Law of Contract

All three Components are written exams worth 100 Marks, all lasting 2 hours each


Entry requirements

At least 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including Maths and English Language grade 4

Your next steps...

An A Level in Law will enhance chances of being accepted into University, to take a Law, Social Science or Business Degree. A grounding in law is a valuable addition to your CV.
